Location: Canberra (Open to other Capital Cities)
Contract: 12 month contract starting September 2026 + numerous extensions
Security Clearance: NV1 clearance required

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Performance Tester to assess and ensure the responsiveness, scalability, and stability of systems under varying workloads.

This role will see you working closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality testing outcomes across complex environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain test strategies and test plans
  • Design, execute, and manage manual and automated test cases (functional & non-functional)
  • Perform performance testing to evaluate system scalability and reliability
  • Create and maintain test scripts and ensure quality standards are met
  • Manage defect lifecycle, including reporting, tracking, and resolution
  • Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM)
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, vendors, and technical teams to define test conditions
  • Lead and coordinate test management activities across projects
  • Provide reporting on test progress, risks, and outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with government information management standards
  • Mentor and support junior team members
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of ICT testing practices and processes

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Experience with test automation tools for scripting and execution
  • Strong background in performance testing, ideally using tools such as LoadRunner
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g. ALM or equivalent)
  • Ability to manage test execution, regression testing, and defect tracking
  • Familiarity with API testing and database querying
  • Understanding of Agile and DevOps environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
