Duration: Contract – 12 months (potential extensions)

Working arrangements: Hybrid

Talent Street is looking for an experienced Senior Angular Software Engineer (Developer) for one of our clients in the Federal Government.  

 

Job details

Software Engineers also known as Development Experts have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.

Angular Development Experts Build and implement user interfaces using Angular framework

Angular Development Experts design, create, test and document new and amended software components from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed development and security standards and processes.

Angular Development Experts engage in the design and the development of high-quality solutions in support of business and technical requirements. The role solves highly complex problems.

Angular Development Experts exercise a considerable degree of independence and undertake a technical leadership role, with work performed under the general guidance of senior staff.

Angular Development Experts may be responsible for, and/or contribute to the management of a team.

 

Key duties and responsibilities

Duties may include some or all the following:

  • Develop, test, and deploy Angular-based web applications with clean, maintainable code
  • Solve highly complex problems and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Ability to develop technical documentation and broad experience with technical frameworks
  • Perform high-level analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluation with proposed solutions.
  • Collaborate with designers, backend developers, and product managers to translate requirements into functional features
  • Manage the release and ensure go-live production support and maintenance for the team’s developments.
  • Proactively share knowledge and expertise as the subject matter expert and provide assistance and mentorship to less experienced staff, developing staff capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.
  • Ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies.
  • Provide support to development teams to ensure high-quality custom solution realisation.
  • Lead and manage the operations of a team including overseeing work priorities and resource management
  • Maintain and support existing system/technology to support day-to-day operation
  • Report on the achievement of business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance in the area of responsibility
  • Resolve escalated issues and suggest alternative approaches.
  • Prepare and review a range of written material which may include technical and corporate documentation.
  • Monitor and manage work output and quality against established performance standards.
  • Engage and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability
  • Attend interagency meetings and forums to influence business outcomes and share information
  • Influence and contribute to ICT strategy, resolving conflicts as needed
  • Perform and manage cost analysis activities as required.
  • Support innovation and manage and lead change.
  • Encourage and support continuous improvement.
  • Exercise delegation in accordance with legislation and guidelines.

 

Technical skills

  • Proficiency in Angular (20+), TypeScript & JavaScript
  • Experience in an Agile environment & MDT
  • 5+ years’ experience in frontend development with a focus on Angular
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, CSS frameworks (Bootstrap), responsive design principles & experience with unit testing frameworks (Jest)
  • Knowledge of Business-Driven Development (BDD)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs & integrating frontend applications with backend services
  • Familiarity with version control systems like GIT
