About the Role

We are exclusively partnering with a North Queensland Local Council to recruit a highly skilled Project Manager to lead a major ERP and business transformation program. This role plays a pivotal part in driving software-as-a-service (SaaS) ERP implementation, delivering significant organisational benefits, and ensuring seamless transformation of business processes. This role is a permanent role that would require the successful candidate to be on site 2 days a week.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a large-scale program that will shape the future of Council services and systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management of ERP transformation streams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, communication strategies, schedules, and budgets.

  • Oversee functional and business requirements gathering, prioritisation, and delivery.

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project teams to drive process improvements and business benefits.

  • Engage and manage external vendors/consultants to deliver quality outcomes.

  • Provide clear reporting on project milestones, risks, and progress to executive leadership.

  • Mentor and guide project staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in end-to-end project management within ERP or large-scale IT transformation projects.

  • Strong background in business process improvement, change management, and vendor management.

  • Excellent communication skills with experience preparing reports and engaging stakeholders at all levels.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability to inspire, mentor, and coordinate cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with TechnologyOne or similar ERP systems highly desirable.

 

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications (AQF7 or above) in IT, Business, or related discipline OR equivalent professional experience.

  • Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar) will be highly regarded.
