Hybrid working arrangements are available. Contractors must work a minimum of 3 days per week onsite, with flexible arrangements for the remaining 2 days, subject to line manager approval.

Job Overview
The Department's Technology Services Division (TSD) is delivering major work programs to implement innovative ICT-based solutions. The APS5 Junior Release Manager – Scheme Platforms Environment & Release – will support the Release Manager (EL1) in the execution and management of release processes across multiple enterprise applications. This includes planning, coordination, governance adherence, release documentation, and support for OCIO ICT Change Management.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- • Assist in scheduling, coordination, and management of releases across multiple platforms (Salesforce, MuleSoft, SAP, etc).
- • Coordinate and refine release content from business and non-functional backlogs.
- • Support the development and maintenance of the release schedule considering dependencies and business priorities.
- • Assist in release readiness assessments, milestone and Go/No-Go reviews.
- • Support the production of Release, Deployment, Run Books, and Implementation Plans.
- • Liaise with release engineers to assess code branching and merge impacts.
- • Produce release reports and represent release status in ICT Change Management forums.
- • Ensure ICT change processes are followed, including security assessments and test sign-offs.
- • Contribute to continuous improvement of release management practices.
- • Provide general support to senior team leaders and contribute to daily stand-ups.
Essential Criteria
- • 1 to 2 years' experience in enterprise-level Release Management processes.
- • Familiarity with SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD and tools such as JIRA, Confluence.
- • Experience managing release dependencies and following governance procedures.
- • Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
- • Ability to work under pressure and drive process improvement.
- • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or certifications such as Diploma of Project Management or SAFe Agile.
Desirable Criteria
- • Release or Project Management experience in Federal or State Government.
- • Interest in accessibility and inclusive development approaches.
- • Understanding of Solution Delivery Lifecycle in relation to Change and Release Management.
- • Experience with risk assessment and mitigation strategies for security threats.
