About the Company
Our client, a prominent State Government organisation, is seeking an experienced Technology Operations Manager for a dynamic 12-month contract role. This position presents the opportunity to lead a high-performing operations team and contribute to the delivery of critical ICT services that support parliamentary functions and enterprise-wide technology systems.
About the Role
The Technology Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the stable operation of ICT and AV systems, leading a team of internal specialists and managed service providers. Reporting to the Head of IT Services, this role is key to maintaining operational performance, managing cyber security updates, overseeing service desk activities, and ensuring the seamless delivery of ICT services across a diverse user base.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage IT operational services, including the service desk, infrastructure, AV, Wi-Fi, telephony, and end-user computing.

Ensure business-critical systems are secure, current, and operating at optimal performance levels.

Oversee incident management and provide escalation support for high-impact issues, including acting as the incident manager during operational outages.

Drive continuous improvement of IT service management processes to enhance the customer experience and resolve systemic issues.

Manage vendor performance and contractual arrangements for key ICT services and infrastructure support.

Lead the delivery of ICT disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.

Contribute to ICT budget planning and manage operational expenditure effectively.

Build team capability through coaching, process optimisation, and fostering a strong customer service culture.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

Proven experience leading ICT operations teams in complex enterprise environments.

Demonstrated success in delivering secure, stable, and high-performing ICT and AV systems.

Strong incident and problem management skills with a calm and structured approach under pressure.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and vendor management capabilities.

Strong understanding of IT Service Management practices and frameworks (e.g., ITIL).

Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related disciplines, with industry certifications highly regarded.

Experience in the public sector or in high-availability environments is advantageous.
