Principal Project Manager – Cyber Security Program

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to manage complex Information Management (IM) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) projects within a high-impact Cyber Security Program. You will drive project success by ensuring completion within agreed performance criteria, aligning with organisational values, and adhering to industry-leading project management methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the definition, documentation, and delivery of large-scale, complex projects using established project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2).

Promote and ensure the use of appropriate project management techniques, tools, and processes, including benefits realisation, risk, and issue management.

Monitor and report on project trends, performance, resources, expenses, and capital costs against plans and forecasts.

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive effective communication and change adoption.

Lead, mentor, and develop multi-disciplinary project teams to foster capability and deliver high-quality outcomes.

About You
We’re looking for an experienced Principal Project Manager with a proven track record in delivering complex cyber security projects. You will bring:

Proven Expertise: Extensive experience managing large-scale cyber security projects, ideally in Identity and Access Management, Privileged Access Management, Cloud Technologies, Network Security, Secure Web Gateways, or general security domains, with knowledge of the Australian Cyber Security Centre Essential Eight (SFIA Skill: PRMG: Level 6).

Stakeholder Engagement: Strong skills in building and influencing stakeholder relationships to support business change (SFIA Skill: RLMT: Level 6).

Project Management: Deep understanding of project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2) and the ability to guide teams in their application (SFIA Skill: METL: Level 5).

Communication: Exceptional negotiation, consultation, facilitation, and written/oral communication skills for complex project environments.

Leadership: Experience leading and mentoring diverse, multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project goals.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with a collaborative approach to developing effective working relationships.
While not mandatory, a relevant qualification in project management or a related field is highly regarded.
