Job Description

Talent Street are looking for a Cyber Security Architect (EL1) for one of our Federal Government Client, with a focus on maintaining security architecture and providing cybersecurity support. The role is based in Canberra and requires onsite work.

Role: Cyber Security Architect
Location: Canberra (Onsite)
Start Date: April 1, 2025
Contract Duration: Until December 2025 (with potential extension for up to 24 months)
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, typical business hours, but shift work may be needed for incidents)
Security Clearance: Must have Baseline clearance and be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1

Key Duties:
Maintain and manage cyber security monitoring and analysis toolsets.
Lead the development of the cyber security architecture in collaboration with internal ICT teams.
Provide support for business operations and electoral events (e.g., polling days).
Respond to cybersecurity incidents.

Mandatory Technical Skills:
Experience with Sentinel or similar SIEM solutions.
Familiarity with the Australian Government ISM.
Experience with security technologies like endpoint protection, firewalls, and IDS/IPS.
Extensive experience with Windows, Linux, networking, and system administration.
Experience with cloud security services (Azure or AWS).

Desirable Skills:
Experience in cyber security monitoring and incident response for Federal government agencies.
