Senior Infrastructure Project Manager

• 6 month contract + multiple extension terms
• Hybrid working - 3 days a week in office
• AUS Citizenship required - Minimum Baseline Clearance

The Opportunity

An established national organisation delivering critical digital and data services across Australia is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Project Manager to join its Infrastructure Portfolio within a major Delivery Enablement Program.

This is a high-impact role responsible for delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects across data centre, cloud, network and security environments. You will operate in a complex, highly integrated, high-availability ecosystem where precision, stakeholder engagement and disciplined delivery are essential.

You will lead the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure initiatives within a structured enterprise portfolio framework. Working in a matrix environment alongside technical leads, architects, vendors and business stakeholders, you will drive projects from design through build, transition and operational handover.

This role suits an experienced infrastructure PM who thrives in technically complex environments with interdependencies, tight timeframes and multiple stakeholders.

Candidates must demonstrate proven experience implementing site relocations, including relocation of infrastructure environments into new data centres.

This includes:

• Planning and delivering physical and logical site migrations
• Coordinating compute, storage, network and security transitions
• Managing high-availability cutovers with minimal service disruption
• Overseeing transition-to-operations documentation and readiness
• Managing vendor coordination and stakeholder communications throughout relocation programs

Experience delivering infrastructure relocations in mission-critical or government environments will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver infrastructure projects and programs under a PRINCE2-aligned enterprise governance framework
• Manage scope, schedule, financial tracking and documentation in line with enterprise delivery standards
• Coordinate design, build, testing, implementation, transition to operations and post-implementation review
• Lead risk, issue, dependency and change management at project level
• Oversee procurement of hardware, software and services
• Manage vendors and external delivery partners
• Engage stakeholders across technical, operational and executive layers
• Facilitate knowledge capture and continuous improvement practices
• Apply Agile, ITIL and change management methodologies (including ADKAR)
• Ensure compliance with enterprise governance, WHS and public sector standards

Critical Experience & Skills

• Proven delivery experience in modern data centre, cloud, network and security environments
• Demonstrated capability managing complex infrastructure programs with significant integrations and dependencies
• Strong financial management and reporting experience within enterprise project offices
• Certification in one or more recognised project management methodologies
• Strong working knowledge of PRINCE2
• Experience using Microsoft Project and Jira in enterprise settings
• Ability to manage large, multi-disciplinary teams and delivery partner.

Desirable

• Experience working within Federal Government environments
• Familiarity with enterprise procurement and EPMO governance frameworks
• Exposure to collaboration platforms including Office 365, SharePoint, Teams and GitLab
