North Canberra Hospital Project – ICT Project Manager
The ACT Government recognises the critical role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in supporting the North Canberra Hospital (NCH) operations and meeting the Northside Hospital Project (NHP) targets and outcomes. As the existing NCH will remain operational throughout the NHP, high-level coordination will be required to manage ICT services across both the existing buildings and the proposed new Northside Hospital.

Role Overview
Our Canberra Gov Client is seeking to engage an ICT Project Manager to plan and deliver ICT activities for the NHP. The ICT Project Manager will:
-Lead all ICT-related planning and delivery activities across the project.
-Act as the primary liaison between the project team and Digital Canberra.
-Ensure ICT requirements are identified, considered, and met throughout each phase of the project.

Key deliverables will be developed in close collaboration with Canberra Health Services (CHS), Digital Canberra, and the NHP Delivery Partner. The role requires ensuring ICT planning is comprehensive, strategically aligned, and responsive to both project-specific needs and national standards, enabling the successful integration of digital infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Governance
-Provide strategic leadership of the ICT workstream, including chairing the ICT Control Group and ICT Technical Working Groups.
-Act as the primary liaison between the project and Digital Canberra, ensuring ICT requirements are identified, prioritised, and integrated across all phases.
-Review and validate Digital Canberra’s monthly and program status reports.
-Provide technical advice and monthly summary reports to the Infrastructure Canberra executive leadership team.
-Prepare submissions for approval through Project Governance committees.

Planning & Delivery
-Ensure ICT requirements are incorporated into design documentation in collaboration with the Delivery Partner, stakeholders, and project advisors.
-Develop and document processes for ICT infrastructure delivery.
-Finalise the ICT Cost Plan, produce regular cost reports, and monitor performance against the plan.
-Manage ICT documentation to ensure accuracy, traceability, and version control.
-Identify cost-effective ICT solutions that meet clinical and project objectives while maintaining quality and lifecycle value.
-Coordinate with telecommunications providers and secure necessary project approvals.
-Work with the FFE MME Project Manager to align ICT, FFE, and MME workstreams.

Strategic Alignment
-Support the implementation of the ICT Strategic Plan, outlining scope, risks, and alignment with project objectives.
-Maintain a stakeholder consultation register for ICT-related meetings, workshops, and communications.

Engagement & Representation
-Build effective relationships with other ACT Government directorates (e.g., Canberra Health Services) to ensure delivery of outcomes.
-Attend governance and coordination forums such as the Project Control Group, Design Working Group, Services Working Group, and FFE MME Working Groups.
-Provide ad-hoc assistance to the project team as required.
