Talent Street are looking for a Senior Communications Advisor (A06) for one of our Government clients in the North Coast Region
Contract Duration: 10 March 2025 – 28 January 2028
Salary Range: $77.02 – $82.40 per hour + 11.5% Superannuation
About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Communications Advisor to join our client’s Communications team, managing and leading communication and engagement activities across multiple projects within the North Coast Region. This role involves shaping strategies, managing key media relations, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless communication across all project stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead executive correspondence, community relations, and engagement efforts across the North Coast Region.
- Develop and implement innovative communication strategies tailored to diverse stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide strategic communications advice and meet project goals.
- Manage media strategies, create content, and oversee public-facing communication channels (social media, websites).
- Coordinate engagement events, manage reputational risks, and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.
Key Challenges:
- Translating complex information into clear, accessible content for diverse stakeholders.
- Balancing competing priorities and managing differing stakeholder views to enhance the Client's reputation.
- Responding quickly to urgent matters, managing tight deadlines across multiple projects.
Essential Criteria:
- 5+ years’ experience in stakeholder engagement, with a strong community focus.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and manage diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities with a capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends if required.
- Political awareness and ability to navigate sensitive issues.
Desirable Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications or related fields.
- Experience within infrastructure, construction, or government sectors.
- Knowledge of public sector processes and regulatory systems.
- IAP2 certification or willingness to attain.
Working Hours:
Maximum of 38 hours per week Monday to Friday with WFH 2-3 days per week
