Talent Street is looking for a Senior Software Developer - Oracle for one of our large Victorian State Government clients.
Responsibilities:
- Design software implementations of functional descriptions for new and altered functionality
- Build and modify software and automated unit tests
- Estimate development effort for specified new or changed software
- Provide advice based on analysis of existing software
- Troubleshoot software incidents and problems using an ITIL framework
- Improve software development processes through innovative ideas to enhance user experience, reduce costs or increase quality
- Maintain design and development artefacts and repositories
- Provide ad-hoc data queries
- Maintain and apply knowledge of contemporary and emerging software design, development, testing and hosting techniques, tools and platforms
- Work collaboratively with peers on IT projects
Key selection criteria
- Expertise and experience with the implementation and development of Oracle Forms/PL/SQL in large enterprises.
- Expertise in identifying and implementing contemporary and emerging software design, development and testing standards, techniques and tools to improve internal processes.
- Highly developed technical skills that demonstrate highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with capacity to exercise sound judgement.
- Highly developed communication skills with an ability to communicate with non-technical people with a demonstrated customer service and quality focus.
Qualifications and training:
Mandatory: At least 5 years’ experience in
- Oracle Forms & Reports 11g,
- PL/SQL,
- SQL,
- Unix Shell Scripting,
- Oracle database concepts,
- Source Control,
- Unix/Linux
Highly Desirable:
- XML
- WebLogic
- SOA
- Continuous Integration,
- ITIL knowledge and/or certification
