Job Description

Ready to take your ICT support skills into a meaningful public sector role? This is your chance to join a dynamic Queensland Government digital team making a real difference in community safety.

THE ROLE

Talent Street is seeking an experienced Technical Support Officer for a contract engagement with a Queensland state government agency based in Brisbane. This is a hands-on technical role sitting within a busy Digital Service Delivery environment. You'll be providing Tier 1/2 support, contributing to ICT operations, and helping keep critical systems running smoothly across multiple sites. The role would also require 4-days working from the office / weekly and salary on offer is at a max of $50.07 including super/hour.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Delivering operational ICT support — both on-site and remote — across a primarily Microsoft environment
• Providing Tier 1/2 helpdesk and contact centre support, including incident triage, diagnosis, and escalation
• Configuring, installing, monitoring, and managing ICT environments to a high technical standard
• Developing and maintaining documentation including knowledge-based articles and work instructions
• Training end users on desktop environments and applications as needed
• Managing your own workload to meet defined service levels and deadlines
• Acting as an escalation point during major service interruptions, including out-of-hours where required
• Mentoring junior staff and supporting consistent adherence to ICT standards and procedures

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Demonstrated technical expertise in ICT environment management, configuration, and implementation across one or more technical domains
• Proven experience delivering high-quality ICT support with a strong focus on prioritisation and working autonomously
• Solid understanding of ITIL Service Management processes and experience — or the ability to quickly learn — ServiceNow
• Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve ICT issues within agreed SLAs
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience producing technical documentation and reports
• Interpersonal skills that support effective collaboration, client service, and team mentoring

NICE TO HAVE

• Current C class driver's licence (highly desirable given potential travel between sites)
• Familiarity with Queensland Government ICT environments or public sector service delivery
• Experience with on-call support arrangements
