THE ROLE
Our client, a Queensland state government organisation, is seeking an experienced Business Technology Platform Owner for a contract engagement based in Brisbane CBD, running through to August 2027 with possible extensions. This is a senior-level opportunity within a Digital Transformation team that drives business innovation and operational improvement through modern service delivery, technology, and data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will take ownership of enterprise platforms, ensuring they deliver measurable business value, remain secure and compliant, and support the organisation's strategic objectives.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle management of assigned business technology platforms, including strategy, governance, operations, and continuous improvement
• Develop and maintain platform roadmaps aligned to organisational priorities, business capability requirements, and digital transformation objectives
• Act as the primary business representative and subject matter expert for assigned platforms, providing strategic advice to stakeholders and senior management
• Manage platform performance, availability, service levels, and user adoption to ensure business outcomes are achieved
• Lead the identification, assessment, prioritisation, and implementation of platform enhancements and new capabilities
• Collaborate with business units, architecture, security, data, and technology teams to ensure platform solutions meet operational and strategic requirements
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, cybersecurity requirements, privacy obligations, and regulatory standards
• Monitor platform risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies where required
• Lead change management activities to support the successful implementation, adoption, and optimisation of platform capabilities
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging industry best practices, emerging technologies, and user feedback
• Prepare executive reports and performance metrics to support informed decision-making
REQUIRED SKILLS
• 5+ years of experience in a similar or comparable platform ownership or technology management role
• Demonstrated experience managing enterprise platforms such as SAP BTP, SAP ESM, Salesforce, Microsoft Power Platform, or Oracle Cloud
• Strong strategic planning and technology governance capabilities
• Proven ability in business analysis and requirements management
• Sound understanding of risk, compliance, and cybersecurity principles
• Experienced in change management and driving organisational adoption of technology
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and service management practice
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
• Experience working within a government or large complex organisation
• Familiarity with Queensland Government ICT policies and frameworks
• Exposure to digital transformation programs and enterprise platform migration or uplift initiatives
