Ready to take your program performance expertise into a high-impact Queensland Government contract role? This is your chance to work on complex infrastructure delivery in Townsville with a clear path to extension.
THE ROLE
Talent Street is seeking an experienced Program Advisor (Performance) for a QLD state government client based in Townsville. This is a contract role, with one potential 12-month extension subject to business requirements and performance. You'll provide high-level governance and program support across complex project delivery environments, working closely with project managers, steering committees, and senior stakeholders to keep programs on track, compliant, and audit-ready.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
• Preparing governance meeting materials, including agendas, briefing papers, minutes, and action registers for regional and statewide committees and boards
• Tracking and closing governance actions, escalation pathways, and change control documentation
• Monitoring and updating risk, issue, and dependency registers to support program reporting
• Standardising and validating the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of program data used for governance reporting
• Supporting capacity planning and ensuring program records and evidence requirements are met
• Recording and progressing escalation change requests through to close-out or further escalation via the PDO board
• Driving governance alignment across districts and the wider region to support consistent program oversight
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• Demonstrated experience in program or project controls, governance support, or reporting within a complex delivery environment
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, dashboards) and PowerPoint (executive reporting)
• Strong skills in developing executive correspondence, ministerials, and briefing notes
• Experience using project and program management systems such as SharePoint, registers, or similar information management platforms
• Exceptional attention to detail in data validation, governance documentation, and reporting accuracy
• Highly developed communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to engage confidently across internal and external stakeholders
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
NICE TO HAVE
• Prior experience working within a Queensland state government or large public sector program environment
• Familiarity with infrastructure or transport program delivery frameworks
