Job Description

THE ROLE

Our client, a well-known federal government organisation, is seeking an experienced Lead Program Architect (Assurance) for a 12-month contract based in Canberra. This role sits within a significant reform program established to implement and administer legislative amendments aimed at increasing transparency and accountability in Australia's electoral funding and disclosure framework. You will be responsible for the governance and assurance of technology solutions across multiple program work packages, ensuring architectural alignment with business priorities, guardrails and design standards.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide guidance to product owners, solution architects, technology vendors and designers to ensure project architectures align with the program roadmap
  • Provide governance and assurance for solution designs and technology options, ensuring alignment with architecture principles and design standards
  • Develop and actively manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships, representing and explaining architectural views across various forums
  • Liaise with vendors, ICT teams and system integrators on architecture, technology and solution matters to facilitate program outcomes
  • Provide analysis, design direction and recommendations on complex issues, supporting executive decision-making and the coordination of program deliverables
  • Deliver high-quality and timely advice to Technical Program and Portfolio leadership, including guidance and reporting
  • Serve as the escalation point for solution architecture and technology issues with third-party vendors
  • Conduct high-level technology risk assessments on third-party vendors and solutions to inform decision making
  • Participate in procurement evaluation activities as required
  • Tailor TOGAF frameworks, methodologies, principles and techniques to support architecture development within the program, in collaboration with program and solution architects
  • Communicate with professional judgement, evaluating risks within a complex and changing environment REQUIRED SKILLS • 10+ years of demonstrated experience as a Program Architect or Enterprise Architect within large-scale, complex ICT projects and

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience as a Program Architect or Enterprise Architect within large-scale, complex ICT projects and programs
  • 5+ years of experience as a solution architect delivering platforms and/or workloads in Azure and/or AWS across cloud-native and hybrid environments
  • Expert knowledge in defining solution architecture across low-code development environments, COTS software and services, business process management, API and service-oriented integrations, and master data management and data warehousing
  • Proven ability to deliver solution architecture that meets business requirements while aligning with organisational constraints
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate effectively between business and technical terminology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with influence, negotiate outcomes and manage complex stakeholder relationships
  • Sound working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies including TOGAF and Zachman
  • Demonstrated personal drive and integrity whilst delivering results within legislative and budget parameters

 

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in ICT or a related field
  • TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Practitioner certification
  • Current Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect certification
  • Current cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, SABSA or ISSAP
  • ArchiMate 3 certification and demonstrated knowledge of Commonwealth ICT frameworks
