Role: Technical Lead

Locations: Melbourne

Duration: Contract – until April 2026

Talent Street is looking for a Technical Lead for one of our large Victorian State government clients.

Key Accountabilities:

Technically manage the change out of the Cisco edge switches to Juniper edge switches
Technically lead and create the early technical design and implementation planning activities for 2026
Gather 3rd party system network requirements from the builders / 3rd parties and provide guidance
Act as the primary technical contact for the Technology components for the department and their builders
Technically lead and deliver the Technology division components for 2026

Key selection criteria:

Detailed technical understanding of Cisco and Juniper edge switches, including the installation, configuration and troubleshooting related to this equipment.
Extensive knowledge and experience within the Cisco and Juniper WAPs, including documentation placement reviews and the upload and configuration of related site data to monitor and manage as part of the Technology Wireless Network Commissioning.
Ability to develop solutions consulting with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including other internal technical teams, builders, superintendents, and schools.
Ability to engage and liaise with the ICT Delivery Manager and ICT Provisioning Manager to provide status updates and escalate any perceived risks and issues.
Experience working within a technical school environment and an understanding of the integration of different technology solutions utilised by schools and the interdependencies for other department teams and external contractors.
Ability to travel to nineteen sites for the physical work to be performed in each of the communications rooms.
Ability to work in an agile fashion and adapt to varied working environments.
