Job Title: Communications Officer (AO4 Equivalent)

Buderim - Onsite

Working Hours: 38 hours per week (8 hours/day, Mon–Fri between 7am and 6pm)

Contract Duration: Full-time, with a possible 2-year extension option

Remuneration (AO4 Pay Scale)

  • AO4.1 - $58.02/hour
  • AO4.2 - $59.84/hour
  • AO4.3 - $61.76/hour
  • AO4.4 - $63.69/hour

 

Position Overview

The Government Department , is seeking a highly capable and proactive Communications Officer (AO4) to join the Stakeholder and Issues Management Team within the Stakeholder Management Business Unit.

 

This role is ideal for professionals with excellent writing and communication skills who can provide responsive and effective communication services. The core focus will be on researching and drafting executive and ministerial correspondence and supporting stakeholder and media engagement.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research, draft, and edit a variety of written communication materials, including responses to ministerial and executive correspondence, briefing notes, speech notes, media statements, and newsletters.
  • Provide strategic communication support and advice to internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and clarity in public messaging.
  • Undertake stakeholder and community engagement initiatives during the lifecycle of projects and programs.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining regional web content to ensure alignment with current initiatives and messaging.
  • Provide training and mentoring to regional staff and consultants on communication best practices and stakeholder engagement.

 

Reporting Line

This role reports to the Senior Communications Advisor (Stakeholder and Issues Management).
