About the Company
Talent Street is assisting a large State Government department in appointing a skilled Service Design Specialist for a key 12-month contract. This exciting opportunity is designed to drive digital service improvements and enhance service delivery outcomes within the public sector.

About the Role
The Service Design Specialist will work within the Digital Services Management unit, managing the service portfolio and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to shape a high-quality digital services mix. Reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Services Management, this role focuses on ensuring that services are sustainable, supportable, and aligned with organisational goals through detailed service design and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across various teams to ensure digital services align with organisational objectives.
  • Facilitate the design, evaluation, and enhancement of ICT services, ensuring sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business needs.
  • Collaborate with service teams and solution architects to establish practical and sustainable service roadmaps.
  • Conduct assessments of current services and develop roadmaps for service improvements.
  • Advocate for service portfolio management and technology reforms that support organisational goals.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.

About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring extensive experience in service design, ideally within public sector settings. Key attributes include:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in service/solution design, service transition, or architecture within large, complex organisations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the ITIL framework and practical experience in service design and lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of public sector operations and their unique challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with service teams and solution architects to deliver actionable service roadmaps.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to convey technical information effectively to a range of stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications in a related field are highly desirable.

The Benefits
