Associate CIAM Software Engineer -  Australian citizens only


Estimated start date: Monday, 18 August 2025
Initial contract duration: 12 months
Extension term: 12 months
Location of work: ACT, QLD, VIC
Working arrangements: Hybrid working arrangements are available. Minimum of 3 days per week onsite, with flexible arrangements for the remaining 2 days, subject to line manager approval.
Maximum hours: 37.5 hours per week
Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1
Citizenship requirement: Australian citizens only

Job Overview
The Technology Services Division is building out its Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) platform to support diverse participants, providers, and carers across the department. As an Associate CIAM Software Engineer, you will collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain scalable CIAM solutions that safeguard participants and prevent fraud, working within a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Implement CIAM solutions leveraging emerging technologies and best practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to design solutions aligned with regulatory requirements and business needs.
Optimise CIAM platforms for scalability, performance, and user experience.
Rotate through CIAM Operations to investigate incidents and maintain platform stability.
Develop and implement automations and integrations to enhance CIAM capabilities.
Participate in possible after-hours on-call support.

Essential Criteria
Software development experience implementing customised CIAM solutions.
Ability to design CIAM solutions aligned with business requirements and industry best practices.
Experience maintaining CIAM solutions and resolving production incidents.
Experience with CIAM platforms such as Auth0, Okta, ForgeRock, Ping, or equivalents.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently manage workload.
Proven adaptability to changing conditions of a newly established platform.

Desirable Criteria
Experience with ForgeRock, PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud, PingAM, or PingIDM.
Engineering experience within microservice architectures.
Frontend development experience.
Demonstrated positive attitude towards people with disability, aligned with client's values.
