Job Description

Role: DevOps Engineer - APS6  and EL1

Client: Federal Government Agency

Locations: ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC

Duration: 12 months with potential 12 months extension

Working arrangements: Hybrid (3 days minimum working from office)

Citizenship Requirement: Australian

Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline

 

Role Purpose

The agency is undertaking major work programs to deliver innovative fit-for-need ICT-based solutions.

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible to design and implement RESTful APIs to support various application functionalities.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain real-time dashboards for monitoring application performance and user metrics.
  • Identify issues and/or errors and support the resolution of any technical problems that arise during iterations.
  • Develop and maintain applications and scripts that reduces development chores.
  • Implement APIs to support various application functionalities and integrate with ALM tooling such as Gitlab, Jira, Microsoft Teams.
  • Define a plan to optimize Scheme Digital Platforms application performance and support designing, building, testing, and maintaining the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) process.
  • Demonstrate effective communication for collaborating with team members and stakeholders
  • Support DevOps initiatives such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, code deployment and system automation, ultimately ensuring that complex systems are operating optimally

 

Mandatory Criteria

  • At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in a role involving development of full stack applications on NodeJs using frameworks such as React/Vue/Next.js.
  • Demonstrated experience with Atlassian Jira, VSCode and DevOps practices

 

Weighted Criteria

  • Experience with GitLab build/deployment pipelines creation, maintenance and monitoring.
  • Comfortable with new ways of thinking about accessibility and enthusiastic about accessible design & development will be highly regarded.
