THE ROLE
This is a long term contract ICT Sourcing Specialist (A05) opportunity based in Brisbane, supporting a large Queensland Government department. Working within the ICT Strategic Sourcing team, you'll contribute to end-to-end procurement activities under the Queensland Information Technology Contracting (QITC) framework. If you have a developing or established background in ICT procurement and want to grow your skills in a structured government environment, this role offers real variety and genuine stakeholder engagement.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
• Supporting sourcing approaches and procurement planning to deliver ICT outcomes across departmental programs
• Contributing to end-to-end sourcing activities including market research, documentation development, evaluation processes and contract establishment under QITC
• Preparing procurement documentation such as Requests for Quote (RFQs), Statements of Work (SOWs) and evaluation artefacts
• Providing informed advice on ICT sourcing processes and commercial considerations for low to medium complexity procurements
• Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, delivery partners and suppliers
• Undertaking research and analysis to support sourcing decisions and continuous improvement
• Identifying and escalating risks within established governance frameworks
• Assisting with compliance monitoring to ensure alignment with Queensland Government procurement policy
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• Demonstrated or developing knowledge of ICT procurement within the QITC/GITC framework
• Experience contributing to procurement activities in a public or private sector environment
• Ability to prepare clear procurement documentation, briefing notes and correspondence
• Sound stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• An understanding of Queensland Government procurement policy and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
NICE TO HAVE
• Experience working within a Queensland Government department or agency
• Familiarity with ICT category procurement and supplier market dynamics
• Exposure to contract establishment and post-award contract administration
