Job details
Systems Analysts translate business requirements into technical requirements that align with relevant architectures.

EL2 Systems Analysts operate with a significant degree of independence and work under the broad guidance of a National Manager to deliver quality outcomes. They operate with a high level of autonomy, with decision-making highly dependent on their own judgement. In performing a leadership role, EL2 Systems Analysts identify and drive innovation, manage and lead change, and has an active role in contributing to and implementing the agencys strategic direction.

As an EL2 Systems Analyst, you may specialise in the following areas:
SAP FI Technical Lead
SAP HR Technical Lead
Senior Basis Administrator

The SAP FI Technical Lead is responsible for managing the overall operation of the Financial and Procurement components of the SAP system, through the coordination of development and improvement activities. The SAP FI Technical Lead, under broad direction and in consultation with the Assistant Director, FI and Reporting Support, manages the assignment of development activities to staff and contractors, provides quality assurance of system changes, and provides technical advice and guidance for ongoing work and future planning for the SAP FI components.

SAP HR Technical Lead is responsible for implementing system changes and developments, under the broad coordination of the Assistant Director, Payroll Administration and HR Support. The SAP HR Technical Lead will work under broad direction to develop, test and document changes performed in their broad areas of expertise. The Technical Lead will also provide high level support for Human Resources and Payroll issues that cannot be resolved at the first or second level.

The Senior Basis Administrator is the subject matter expert responsible for ensuring the correct operation of the SAP application and its infrastructure. The Basis Administrator is responsible for, under broad direction, the planning and management of the effective technical implementation of SAP, including user and role management, including databases and servers.

Key duties and responsibilities
May include some or all of the following:

  • develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning to increase
  • performance, engagement and retention
    develop and execute a solution vision for product expansion within a category
  • drive innovation, continuous improvement, and manage and lead change
  • help translate market trends and insights and customer needs into relevant solutions
  • ensure applications meet business and end-user requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues
  • review and analyse existing applications effectiveness and efficiency, and develop strategies for improving or leveraging the systems to achieve strategic business objectives
  • set direction by contributing and aligning to local business plans and ICT strategies
  • oversee, review and advise on a range of written material, including technical and corporate documentation
  • collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
  • Implement complex FI enhancements and legislative changes including Travel and Procurement
  • provide cost and effort estimates
  • implement minor and major configuration changes
  • provide complex master data support for other agencies
  • develop and implement testing plans for system changes
  • perform system testing, document results, data refreshes and client copies
  • create and maintain technical documentation all for system changes, including specifications, blueprint documents and infrastructure and application aspects of the SAP system
  • review Business Requirements documents and provide input to requests for costings
  • implement complex HR enhancements and legislative changes
  • provide third-level support for SAP HR, data interfaces between SAP and other corporate systems
  • provide technical guidance with other teams to support SAP applications and technical infrastructure
  • provide advice and guidance on the effective implementation of the SAP landscape
  • participate in technical design activities
  • perform change analysis, and associated resolution activities, for upgrades and patches
  • provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to others
  • perform system capacity planning, technical monitoring and performance tuning
  • perform installation and system upgrades, including the application of system and application patches
  • perform troubleshooting of technical system issues, including the application of appropriate resolutions
  • Apply system changes to production and lower environments

Preferred:
Extensive experience in the technical management of SAP Basis.
Extensive experience and configuration knowledge of SAP FI/HR in a large-scale organisation
