Job Description

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager for SAP S/4HANA to lead the move from SAP ECC6 to a modern, cloud based SAP S/4HANA finance platform. This sits within a broader finance transformation program spanning multiple government agencies, so you’ll need strong leadership, sharp stakeholder management, and confidence working within structured governance.

You’ll be accountable for end to end delivery, making sure the work stays aligned across business areas, risks and issues are actively managed, stakeholders are kept informed, and project reporting and artefacts are delivered to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of SAP S/4HANA in partnership with business areas, executives, subject matter experts, and other agencies
• Provide clear, executive level updates including progress reporting, milestone tracking, and benefits realisation reporting
• Plan and deliver project activities using recognised methodologies such as PRINCE2 and Agile, supported by program governance and change management practices
• Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations within an established governance framework
• Produce high quality project artefacts including submissions, reports, highlight reports, briefing notes, presentations, and recommendations
• Drive organisational change and ensure stakeholders are engaged, informed, and ready for the transition

Role suitability

Essential requirements
• Minimum 10 years experience in project management
• Strong background in financial systems delivery, ideally including SAP implementations
• Demonstrated experience in governance, reporting, and delivery within government or large complex organisations
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship building skills
• Proven ability to lead reform and transformation initiatives
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to manage risk and recommend practical solutions

Highly regarded

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Analysis, Information Systems, or a related discipline
• Relevant certifications such as PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, or Agile credentials
