Lead Program Architect (EL2 Equivalent) – Federal Government
Location: ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, WA (Hybrid)
Start Date: 29 September 2025
Contract Duration: 12 months (with potential extension)
Hours: 37.5 per week
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain NV1
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Program Architect (EL2 equivalent) to join a Federal Government transformation program focused on protecting integrity, reducing fraud, and delivering participant-centred digital services.
This role will lead the architecture practice across large-scale, complex initiatives, providing strategic direction, governance, and technical leadership. You will work closely with senior executives, delivery teams, and technical staff to design and implement enterprise solutions that align with program and organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities

Lead architecture solution development across large, complex programs.

Balance program delivery with strategic and organisational objectives.

Develop and communicate solution designs, capability roadmaps, and technical strategies.

Manage and mentor a team of architects and technical specialists.

Facilitate design reviews, governance forums, and stakeholder workshops.

Translate business capabilities into technology requirements and future-state architectures.

Collaborate with business and technical leaders to drive decision-making.
Essential Criteria
-
10+ years as a Lead Architect, with proven track record in enterprise-level solution design.

Broad technical and architectural background across complex programs and platforms.

5+ years’ experience managing architecture practices and teams.

Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills.

Ability to develop strategic roadmaps and align technical solutions with business goals.

Skilled in mentoring architecture teams and facilitating design decisions with executives.
Desirable Criteria

Tertiary IT qualification (mandatory) and TOGAF (or equivalent) certification.

Experience leading fraud detection, compliance improvement, or integrity-focused transformation programs.

AWS cloud certifications and strong knowledge in Cloud, Cyber Security, and enterprise platforms.

Previous Federal Government experience and ability to obtain or hold NV1 clearance.
