Job Description

Talent Street is looking for a Senior Test Analyst to join one of our State Government Clients based in Brisbane CBD.

This is a long term engagement, initially until June 2026.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in testing and automation, a proven track record of collaborating effectively within diverse project teams, and strong technical expertise. Additionally, they will demonstrate excellent project management capabilities, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role requires a proactive and results-oriented professional committed to ensuring the success of testing activities within the team.

The Senior Test Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the Digital Solutions technical team by establishing and executing a robust testing framework across the DevOps lifecycle. This includes defining the test approach, creating, and managing test documentation, developing test plans and cases, organising and maintaining information for each test cycle, and overseeing the execution and outcomes of various test phases.

Key responsibilities

As the Senior Test Analyst, you will:

  • Define and implement test strategies, leveraging both manual and automated approaches.
  • Develop and refine testing processes to ensure products meet customer needs and quality standards.
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Estimate, prioritise, and coordinate new testing activities, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Create comprehensive and well-structured test plans, test cases, and documentation to support operations and quality output.
  • Perform regression testing and track bugs to ensure fixes do not introduce new issues, documenting and managing defects using standard tools.
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and architects) to identify and refine system requirements and ensure effective test coverage.
  • Monitor and report on quality assurance metrics, debugging processes, and test outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify potential risks early in the lifecycle and propose proactive testing measures to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate across teams to align testing objectives and advocate for quality best practices.

Most of the projects team work with stakeholders to leverage the latest Microsoft technologies (e.g. Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Dataverse and Data Lakes) and establish a modern technology platform.

Previous experience across those platforms will be a plus.

  • Proven track record of creating comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and writing detailed test cases based on product requirements.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with development and business teams to understand system requirements, communicate problem impacts, and align on quality objectives.
  • Experience in identifying and managing risks related to testing and quality assurance activities.
  • Solid background in working within Agile/Scrum environments and contributing to iterative development cycles.
  • Demonstrated experience monitoring and reporting on quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience working in government or large organisations, with an understanding of the unique challenges and regulatory requirements.
