Talent Street is looking for a Product Owner for one of our Victorian State government clients. The role will be part of the Product and Design division. 

 

 

Product and Design division:

 

The Product and Design division leads the creation of customer-focused concepts, driving ideation and product definition across citizen, business, regulatory and VPS services across government.

 

About the role:

As a Product Owner, you will play a key role in shaping and enhancing a suite of products that support Victorian parents in accessing and learning about government services available for their families. Reporting to the Head of Product, this is an integral role to ensuring the delivery of significant platform upgrades including tools and operating environment. You will collaborate closely with different teams and departments and use feedback and data to guide decisions and make improvements. This role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of everyday Victorians.



Key accountabilities:

The key responsibilities of the Product Owner include, but is not limited to:

 

  1. Liaise with key stakeholders to identify and develop service reform opportunities to improve services for Victorian citizens.
  1. Represent and balance the needs of customers together with business requirements to provide vision and direction to the delivery team that enables them to deliver the highest value product suite.
  1. Analyse customer feedback and the overall the performance of the product portfolio from a business, agency and client perspective to identify and prioritise enhancements to improve products and the experience for customers. 
  1. Support the portfolio planning process to ensure alignment and clarity on the short and mid-term direction of the product portfolio
  1. Participate in all agile ceremonies, providing leadership to build the team’s capability in Agile methodologies and capacity to deliver.
  1. Work closely with all areas of the business, in particular business analysts, technical delivery and user experience staff to ensure scope, requirements and stories are clearly understood, documented and approved. 
  1. Regularly liaise with representatives from Victorian Government agencies and departments to demonstrate latest product iterations to customers (pre-release) and gather feedback. Prioritise and communicate this feedback to the team.
  2. Support and sign off the User Acceptance Testing for products and work with internal business areas to ensure smooth market introduction.
